The Rupee Report is independent investing analysis for Sri Lanka — written to be understood.
We started with a simple frustration: almost everything written about the Colombo Stock Exchange, the economy, and personal money assumes you already speak the language. Annual reports read like a wall. "Experts" trade jargon. And the ordinary Sri Lankan who just wants to invest their savings sensibly is left guessing — or worse, following tips in a WhatsApp group.
We think that's backwards. Investing well isn't about secret knowledge or a finance degree. It's about a handful of clear ideas, applied patiently. Our job is to explain those ideas in plain language, using real Sri Lankan examples, so that anyone willing to learn can make confident, informed decisions with their own money.

Our approach
- Plain language, always. If a nine-year-old couldn't follow the shape of the argument, we've written it badly.
- Education, not tips. We explain how to think, not what to buy. We will never tell you to buy or sell a specific stock.
- Honest about risk. Investing can lose money. We say so, clearly and often.
- Independent. Our analysis is our own. Company examples are used to teach, never as endorsements.
